My last review is for the Avea Trotter doll. This is the doll I was least excited for, and I’m still not sold on her. I’m not a huge centaur fan, so that might contribute to how lackluster she is to me.
Avea is the daughter of a harpy (Mother) and a centaur (Father).
This is the reason I bought this doll! She has beautiful harpy wings attached to her back, in much the same way all of the Monster High wings attach. The wings have a beautiful gradient from a dark green (almost black) down to a nice emerald green. You can also see her jacket has an opening to allow her wings to be comfy.
Avea wears a belt that goes from her waist down to her less human side. I’m not a fan of this. I understand the equine references, but I’d think a centaur (who HATES being referred to as a vehicle) would avoid all references to being ridden.
You can also see her cute blue tail. That black piece doesn’t come off, or it it does, I didn’t find a way.
She also has these little Monster High skulletes on her leg. This is very “My Little Pony” to me, and I am not a fan. Also, why would she have the Monster High logo on her leg if she isn’t even a student there, yet?
Avea’s front legs have articulation at the hip, the knee, and the ankle. Her back legs are only articulated at the hip. I’m actually a fan of this decision, because she has a hard enough time with the front articulation. Of the three, you’d think that Avea would stand the most easy, but she actually falls over a lot!
And that is Avea! I can’t wait to find more styling options for her. I think it would be fun to try and design outfits for her. I may try to host some kind of contest later to see who can design the best outfit for her. What do you think?
