Monster High ~ Casta Fierce

Casta Fierce is this year’s fall single release doll, in the same way that Catty Noir was last year. Casta is the daughter of Circe, the goddess of magic, and the lead singer of a band called The Spells (per the Monster High wiki). Casta has started showing up in some Wal-Mart stores, but all three stores near me are completely void of new things. Thanks to my awesome friends at Toot’s Toys, though, I was able to grab her and have in her in my hands before Wal-Mart even reset their shelves. If your Wal-Marts are super behind like mine, check out shop.tootstoys.com to grab your Casta!

Casta is a green witch doll that comes with a regular MH stand, a black brush, a microphone stand/broom, and a microphone.

Casta has this fierce expression (haha!). She has purple eyes with yellow zigzags, purple and gold eyeshadow, a gold teardrop/birthmark, purple lipstick, and a tiny beauty mark above her lips.

Casta’s long black hair is so beautiful! It is super soft and amazing to work with! Nothing like that mess that was Catty’s hair!

Casta’s hair has a purple and an orange stripe.

The hair has this cute little bump in the front.

Casta wears this awesome shoulder accessory that clips in the back. It limits her arm mobility, though. The orange sleeves are attached to a black piece that velcros in the back. This piece is separate from the dress.

Casta’s dress is strapless. It velcros in the back and is very stiff due to all of the glitter that went into making it.

The bottom of Casta’s dress has this cute buckle and a black glittery skirt. This narrowing of the dress occurs nears her knees and significantly limits her ability to move her legs. She can’t pose as well as dolls because of this.

Casta wears these purple boots with studs and silver buckles. She is all about the buckles!

Casta has hands in the same shape as Abbey’s. Her right hand is shaped like Catty’s in order to hold her microphone.

Casta can hold her microphone in her hand or put it into her broom-microphone stand. I love that stand! The orange and black streams with buckles just adds another Halloweeny element.

Casta is made on the “older sister” body style, making her taller and more stout than the traditional Monster High dolls. Here she is next to her BFF, Catty Noir.

And that’s Casta! She is such an amazing doll!

I wish that Casta came with an expression more similar to her box art. The official Mattel art for her has her smiling, almost mid-song.

I know that would be hard to pull off for a doll, but this doll has an expression that is so different than the art. This doll looks mean and mad. The art makes her look like she is loving life.

What do you think of Casta? Is she joining your herd of monsters? Or is she too Fierce for you?
