Casta Fierce is this year’s fall single release doll, in the same way that Catty Noir was last year. Casta is the daughter of Circe, the goddess of magic, and the lead singer of a band called The Spells (per the Monster High wiki). Casta has started showing up in some Wal-Mart stores, but all three stores near me are completely void of new things. Thanks to my awesome friends at Toot’s Toys, though, I was able to grab her and have in her in my hands before Wal-Mart even reset their shelves. If your Wal-Marts are super behind like mine, check out shop.tootstoys.com to grab your Casta!
She’s a beautiful doll. Click for more photos and my full review!
Casta wears this awesome shoulder accessory that clips in the back. It limits her arm mobility, though. The orange sleeves are attached to a black piece that velcros in the back. This piece is separate from the dress.
The bottom of Casta’s dress has this cute buckle and a black glittery skirt. This narrowing of the dress occurs nears her knees and significantly limits her ability to move her legs. She can’t pose as well as dolls because of this.
I wish that Casta came with an expression more similar to her box art. The official Mattel art for her has her smiling, almost mid-song.
I know that would be hard to pull off for a doll, but this doll has an expression that is so different than the art. This doll looks mean and mad. The art makes her look like she is loving life.
What do you think of Casta? Is she joining your herd of monsters? Or is she too Fierce for you?
