I hope everyone has had an amazing weekend! It was a holiday weekend for us here in The States. Thanksgiving was on Thursday and “Grey Thursday” and Black Friday followed. SO many dolls have come into the del Sol household that I don’t think I’ll ever get through the reviews! I promise, I’ve got great things ahead for you guys! We’ve got Haunted, Mirror Beach, and other reviews on the way!
Today we review Blondie Lockes from the Ever After High Through the Woods Line. I got my Blondie Lockes doll from the AMAZING Toot’s Toys. They have her for $24.99 plus shipping right now. Go check it out! They’ve got all four of the Through the Woods dolls! (And they have a collector on staff that can pick out a collector quality doll for you if you are picky about the painting)
The new EAH boxes are a little shock if you haven’t seen them yet.
They have a spine like the old boxes, but if comes out a little bit as though they are showing you the spine of the book along the front or something. The boxes that have stands (Through the Woods) will have this keyhole in the side closest to the doll. Those dolls that do not have stands (Mirror Beach) do not have that keyhole.
Through the Woods appears to be a line about a Forest Fest? The box claims these are their “Dark Forest Traveling Outfits!” Blondie’s box features a map and directions to the Forest Fest. It looks similar to how Google Maps or MapQuest would give directions (with the tolls) and I think that is adorable! Well, if they weren’t all over the place and destined to get you lost. (The bottom line says “Good luck finding the party. Try inviting me next time -Faybelle Thorn”)
The box also show the other three dolls that are included in this line.
This Blondie doll is a Made in China doll. With Blondie Lockes dolls, that makes a HUGE difference as to the doll you are going to get. Blondie and Cerise Hood are the two dolls that have the most difference between their facial screenings dependent upon where their dolls were made.
Here is a comparison of the Made in China Blondie (left) compared to a Signature Made in Indonesia Blondie (right). The facial screening is noticeably different to me, although I don’t know that I could describe the differences.
Blondie’s hood features a small hole for her hair to come out. I LOVE this feature. Dear EAH designers, could you share this with the MH team? (The new River Styxx doll could seriously use this feature on her hood!)
The cape of the hood features a print of little bear heads, light blue vines, stars, and bows. The cape is trimmed in yellow frills. The hood itself is just a plain blue that matches the background of the cape. I love that the print is only on the cape, I think it keeps the whole look from getting WAY too busy.
I LOVE this doll! I knew I would, but she is just amazing in person! I would say she is my second favorite Blondie (after the signature doll whose hair I straightened and play with.) Between a regular stock signature Blondie or this Through the Woods Blondie, I’d pick Through the Woods! I LOVE this doll! Her hood is super cute, the dress below it is simple yet elegant enough, I LOVE her knee-highs. She is just adorable!
I can’t WAIT to add the rest of the Though the Woods dolls to my collection! Be on the lookout, because the Spring Unsprung dolls will be released shortly as well! Stay tuned, I’ll be posting Mirror Beach soon!
