Way Too Wonderland ~ Apple White Doll Review

It is so exciting to be reviewing dolls that I got to see at Toy Fair!!
Ever After High Showcase at New York Toy Fair 2015

This post is all about Way Too Wonderland Apple White. I got this doll from Toot’s Toys. Their latest shipment of dolls included the Way Too Wonderland girls, Raven’s WTW Playset, and the Sugar Coated dolls and playset. I only purchased the Bunny (previously reviewed here) and this Way Too Wonderland Apple doll.

The Way Too Wonderland dolls come packaged in a new style box. The girls appear to be falling into Wonderland. I couldn’t wait to start this review, and broke into the box before I photographed that…. oops.

The doll stand and brush are packaged at the bottom. When the box is together, these items are less visible under the cardboard book cutout.

The bottom of the box features the barcode (save this photo to go check your local stores) as well as information about the doll (Made in China) and that the doll should come with a story, stand, and accessories.

The back of the box is FULL of information about the new line and the new movie.

Apple’s art is adorable as always

Somehow (was it Thronecoming? Or Spring Unsprung?) the girls find a way into Wonderland and are setting out to end the curse put upon that land by the Evil Queen.

The box contains a little more detail about the story and Apple’s perspective of being stuck in Wonderland.

In true EAH style, the box features the art of the other dolls in the line.

Apple’s card has her face with an A and suit of diamonds.

One side of the fold-out card features a diploma for Apple White from Wonderland High School.

I’ll let you read the story for yourself. I’m not sure what’s the premise here? The girls attend Wonderland High while they are trying to rid the land of the curse? Do they plan on being there THAT long?

How about we get to that doll?!

Apple features this beautiful red lipstick, light blue eyeshadow, and red eyebrows. I ADORE this face!

Apple White’s headband is a LARGE crown and some roses. There is a fabric bow in the back. (BOWS!) The hat sits on an elaborate headband that is decorated with swirls and dots.

Did I mention that bow?!

Apple’s earrings are the mirror images of one another. They are an apple dangling from a swirl pattern similar to that on her headband.

Apple wears a large plastic light blue collar. It is open in the front and fully detachable.

Underneath that collar is the BEAUTIFUL dress! Some people have proclaimed that they think the Way Too Wonderland dolls are too over-the-top, but I think this dress is JUST RIGHT.

Okay, well, maybe not the WHOLE dress. I like these sleeves on Apple, but I would NEVER wear a dress with sleeves like this.

Apple’s skirt is in two layers. The top layer is made of that stiff satiny-material. The print feature ribbon curls, apples, diamonds (actually, they are rhombuses, or rhombi), and diamond print cards. The bottom layer is light blue (same material on bottom and tulle on top).

Apple’s shoes are OMG amazing! But this view really doesn’t show all the details.

The heels of the shoes are small gnomes (or dwarves?) that are holding Apple up.

The front of the shoes features all four suits of cards. Apple’s right shoe has the red suits with a diamond at the top and a heart at the toe. The left shoe contains the black suits with the club at the top and the spade at the toe.

Apple brought her black gloves from the Hat-tastic party, but got new (larger) cuffs for this party. The cuffs have heart cut-outs.

Apple wears a red apple ring. This ring matches the apples of her earrings.

Apples purse is a clock. The purse opens up like a pocket watch to reveal a face that makes no sense. The back of the purse features the EAH logo.

And that’s the Way Too Wonderland Apple White doll!
Oh! I totally forgot to mention the light blue and pink in her hair! It really only exists in three places. There are the strands on the front right that goes back to a ponytail, the strands on the left that are pulled back as her bangs, and then a strand that isn’t so obvious that creates the tiny bit you can see from the back.

So what do you think? Is Apple TOO Wonderland for you? Or is she JUST RIGHT?

I am LOVING the over-the-top designs of the WTW dolls. I can’t wait to add the others to my collection!

  1. I love love love this line! I thought that Apple’s shoe heels were chess pieces but the dwarves are way better! :D I need them all!

  2. At first I really didn’t care much about this line (it was literally Way Too Wonderland for me), but now I’ve grown to love it :) The dolls look crazy fun and I just might buy them all.

I’m just so angry these won’t come to Finland, we only got the first four basics year and a half go. Now the everafterhigh.com website isn’t even possible to read in Finnish anymore (though I prefer it in English anyway) and I think it means that we won’t be seeing new dolls either… I think the dolls just don’t sell enough here and that is only because they are too expensive, basics are 35€ (about 39 USD!). And they don’t even advertise them anywhere :(

Luckily I can order them online and for much cheaper, but then I can’t pick the best looking one myself and I might get some wonky eyed one… So far I’ve been quite lucky.

Anyway, sorry for the rant and THANK YOU for the awesome reviews you do. Hope you have a great day! :)

    1. Thank you for the awesome compliment! I was like you originally in that I wasn’t completely sold on the WTW Line. I knew I wanted Apple, but now that I have her, I can feel that overwhelming need to get the other girls!

  3. The dress is a bit too pink for me, but she’s tempting anyway– that’s the prettiest facial screening I’ve seen for an Apple so far, I like her crown and the watch, and her shoes are fantastic!

  4. I love Alice In Wonderland, so when this line came out I literally freaked. I have 4 way too wonderland dolls, Lizzie, Kitty, Maddie, and Apple. I am dyeing to get Briar and Raven.
